Which cover fits which Gravity Series model?
Straightforward matrix:
Masterbuilt Small Digital Charcoal BBQ and Smoker Cover ($149.95): sized for the Gravity Series 600.
Masterbuilt Large Digital Charcoal Grill and Smoker Cover ($169.95): sized for the Gravity Series 1150.
If you own an older Masterbuilt model not in the current Gravity Series range, call 0434 010 411 with your model number and we will confirm fit before you order.
What material are the Masterbuilt covers made from?
The Masterbuilt Digital Charcoal Covers use heavy-duty weather-resistant polyester fabric with a UV-resistant coating. The seams are reinforced and the bottom uses an elasticated hem with hook-and-loop straps to keep the cover snug against the BBQ in wind.
The construction is engineered for Australian outdoor conditions: Sydney summer sun, winter rain, salt air on coastal properties. The UV coating prevents the fabric from breaking down or fading over years of outdoor exposure.
How do I stop the cover blowing off in strong wind?
Both Masterbuilt covers come with integrated hook-and-loop side straps that wrap around the BBQ legs or cart frame. Tighten the straps after fitting the cover and the cover will stay put in standard Sydney wind conditions.
For exposed coastal or rural properties with regular high winds, the manufacturer also recommends additional bungee cords from corner to corner under the BBQ. Most owners do not need them but they are worth knowing about.
Should I cover the BBQ while it is still warm?
No. Wait until the BBQ is completely cool to the touch before fitting the cover. A warm BBQ heats the inside of the cover, traps moisture as it cools, and accelerates fabric breakdown plus interior corrosion.
Typical cool-down time on a Gravity Series after a low-and-slow cook is 1 to 2 hours. After a high-heat sear it can take 3+ hours. Cover it the next morning if you finish cooking late at night. The hopper and chamber will be dry and you protect the BBQ longer.
How do I clean the cover?
For routine cleaning: wipe down with a damp cloth and mild dish soap, then rinse clean and air-dry before refitting. Avoid harsh degreasers or abrasive scourers that can damage the UV coating.
For tree sap, bird droppings or stubborn marks, soak the affected area with warm soapy water for 10 minutes before wiping. Never machine wash or tumble dry the cover. Air-dry only.
What other Masterbuilt accessories exist beyond covers?
The current Masterbuilt Australian accessory range we stock is the cover family. Masterbuilt globally produces other Gravity Series accessories (rotisserie kits, smoke baskets, drip pan liners, replacement grates) but they are not yet imported into Australia as standard stock items.
For most Gravity Series owners, the accessories that make the biggest practical difference are not Masterbuilt branded:
Inside the chamber: a cast iron griddle, pizza stone, rotisserie basket or grilling stone from our Cooking Accessories range. Fuel for the hopper: high-quality lump charcoal like Argie Grillz Argentine Lump. Ignition: Pyralit wood-wool firelighters from our Fire Starters range.
