The MiniMax is Big Green Egg's most portable ceramic kamado. It carries the same ceramic construction, the same temperature control principles, and the same cooking versatility as every other EGG in the range, but with a compact footprint and built-in carrier handles that make it genuinely transportable in a way no other EGG model is.
This package includes everything you need to start cooking immediately. It is not a stripped-back base model with a list of accessories to purchase separately. The Portable Nest, Acacia EGG Mates, convEGGtor, 8kg Natural Lump Charcoal, fire starters, grid gripper, and ash tool all come in the bundle.
We have been cooking on Big Green Eggs since 2017. As a Platinum Dealer, the highest dealer level that Big Green Egg awards, we stock the full range and have the MiniMax on display at our Wetherill Park showroom. You can see it in person, compare it against the other EGG sizes, and take it home the same day.

Every EGG in the Big Green Egg range uses the same ceramic construction and the same dual-vent airflow system. The MiniMax shares all of that with its larger siblings. What sets it apart is the carrier system integrated directly into the ceramic band, and the folding Portable Nest that raises it to standing cooking height, then folds flat for storage and transport.
This is the only EGG designed to be picked up and carried. The handles are engineered into the structure, not added on as an afterthought, and the weight and balance are suited to two people moving it between locations.
For apartment balconies, camping, beach houses, and any setup where footprint and portability matter, the MiniMax offers the full Big Green Egg cooking experience without the size commitment of the Medium or Large.

The MiniMax has a 33 cm (13 inch) cooking grid and 855 cm² of cooking surface. Big Green Egg specifies it as ideal for 1 to 3 people, with capacity for 6 burgers, 1 whole chicken, or 1 Boston butt (approximately 3.6 kg) at a time. Like every EGG, the MiniMax handles the full range of cooking methods:
Direct grilling at high heat: steaks, burgers, fish, vegetables
Indirect smoking and roasting using the included convEGGtor
Low and slow smoking at sustained low temperatures
High-heat searing with the vents fully open
Baking and pizza using the convEGGtor and optional pizza accessories

Ceramic heat deflector that creates an indirect cooking environment. Redirects heat away from the food so the ceramic dome circulates convection heat from all sides. Enables smoking, roasting, and baking.
Grid Gripper and Ash Tool
Grid Gripper for safely removing the hot cooking grid without oven gloves. Ash Tool for clearing ash that accumulates at the bottom of the EGG between cooks.
Natural Lump Charcoal

Here is how the warranty breaks down for the MiniMax Portable Package. The warranty is valid for residential use only and requires registration at biggreenegg.com.au. It applies to EGGs purchased from an Authorised Dealer. As a Platinum Dealer, all warranty claims for units purchased through BBQ Republic are handled directly through us.

The compact cooking area is the first thing people focus on when considering the MiniMax, and it is worth addressing directly. At 855 cm², the MiniMax is sized for 1 to 3 people as specified by Big Green Egg. For couples or small households, it covers the full range of everyday cooking comfortably.
Where the MiniMax has limitations is volume: larger quantities of food for bigger gatherings will eventually push the limits of the cooking grid. If you regularly cook for four or more people, or want to cook multiple large cuts of meat simultaneously, the Medium or Large EGG will serve you better. Getting startedAssembly and Getting Started
Assembly involves setting up the Portable Nest and attaching the EGG Mates. Two people are recommended for moving and assembly given the weight of the ceramic components. Big Green Egg provides assembly guides and safety tips at biggreenegg.com.au, which we recommend reading before your first cook.
Register your EGG at biggreenegg.com.au promptly after purchase. Warranty coverage begins at the date of purchase from an Authorised Dealer and requires registration to be valid.
Care and maintenanceKeeping It in Good Condition
- Remove ash from the firebox after each cook using the included ash tool
- Brush the cooking grid clean after use
- Wipe the Acacia EGG Mates clean and apply food-safe oil periodically to maintain the timber
- Keep the EGG covered when not in use
- Never use lighter fluid or flammable accelerants inside the EGG. This voids the warranty and damages the ceramic.

What is included in a Big Green Egg bundle?
Every BGE bundle includes the Egg itself plus a stand or nest system. Depending on the bundle, this may be an Acacia hardwood table, a modular nest, an intEGGrated nest and handler, or a built-in configuration. Most bundles also include a convEGGtor, charcoal, and SpeediLight starters. Each bundle page lists exactly what is included.
Do Big Green Egg bundles come with a warranty?
Yes. The ceramic components carry a lifetime warranty for residential use when purchased through an authorised dealer. Metal components carry a 5-year structural warranty, the convEGGtor 3 years, and the temperature gauge and gasket 1 year. The warranty requires registration and is only valid through authorised dealers like BBQ Republic.
Do you deliver and install Big Green Egg bundles in Sydney?
Yes. BBQ Republic offers free delivery and installation across Sydney on all Big Green Egg bundles. We deliver, assemble, and leave you ready to cook. No flat-pack assembly, no extra cost. Sales and delivery are available within New South Wales.
Which Big Green Egg size should I buy?
The Large is the most popular choice and the size we recommend most after seven years cooking on BGE. It feeds 4 to 6 people and handles everything from weeknight steaks to 16-hour briskets. The XL suits larger groups. The Medium suits couples or smaller spaces. The MiniMax is the most portable. If you are unsure, visit our Wetherill Park showroom and we will walk you through the options in person.
Can I see Big Green Egg bundles in person before buying?
Yes. BBQ Republic has a showroom in Wetherill Park, Sydney where multiple BGE bundle configurations are on display. You can compare sizes and setups side by side before committing. Open Monday to Friday 10am to 5pm and Saturday 9am to 2pm.
What can I cook on a Big Green Egg?
Everything. The Big Green Egg operates from 75 degrees to over 370 degrees, making it suitable for direct grilling at high heat, low and slow smoking, indirect roasting, baking, and pizza. With the convEGGtor included in most bundles, you can use every cooking method from day one.
Do I need to register my Big Green Egg for the warranty?
Yes. Registration is required for the warranty to be valid. The warranty covers the original registered purchaser and requires purchase from an authorised dealer. All warranty claims for EGGs purchased through BBQ Republic are handled directly through us.
