The MiniMax Carrier Bundle is the entry point into portable Big Green Egg cooking. It gives you the same ceramic kamado construction as the full Portable Bundle, paired with the integrated carrier system and essential cooking accessories, at a lower price point than the bundle that includes the Portable Nest and Acacia EGG Mates.
This is the bundle to choose if portability is your primary reason for buying a MiniMax. The carrier handles are built directly into the ceramic band system of the EGG, not added on as accessories, and the bundle arrives with everything needed to start cooking immediately: the convEGGtor for indirect cooking, Premium Oak and Hickory Lump Charcoal, fire starters, grid gripper, and ash tool.
The Portable Nest and Acacia EGG Mates are not included in this bundle. If you want those from the start, the MiniMax Portable Bundle is the right choice. If you want to start with the carrier-only configuration and add the nest and shelves later as separate purchases, this bundle gives you that flexibility.

Ceramic heat deflector for indirect cooking. Sits inside the EGG above the fire and creates a convection environment. Enables smoking, roasting, and baking in addition to direct grilling.
Grid Gripper and Ash Tool
Grid Gripper for safely removing the hot cooking grid. Ash Tool for clearing ash that collects at the bottom of the EGG between cooks.
Natural Lump Charcoal
One bag of Big Green Egg Natural Lump Charcoal. Available in Oak and Hickory or Canadian Maple blends depending on stock.
SpeediLight Natural Charcoal Starters
All-natural fire starters for lighting the EGG without accelerants or lighter fluid. Limited lifetime warranty on ceramic components requires registration.
Cooking Capability and Capacity
The MiniMax has a 33 cm (13 inch) cooking grid and 855 cm² of cooking surface. Big Green Egg specifies it as suitable for 1 to 3 people, with capacity for 6 burgers, 1 whole chicken, or 1 Boston butt (approximately 3.6 kg) at a time. With the convEGGtor installed, the MiniMax handles the full range of cooking methods available on any EGG:
Direct grilling over high heat: steaks, burgers, fish, vegetables
Indirect smoking and roasting using the convEGGtor
Low and slow cooking at sustained low temperatures
Baking and pizza with appropriate accessories
The thick ceramic walls retain and distribute heat consistently across extended cooks, which is the core reason the EGG holds temperature steadily without constant adjustment to the vents.
How the carrier worksThe Carrier: How It Works
The integrated carrier handles are positioned at the correct points for balanced two-person lifting. Two people are recommended for moving the MiniMax given the weight of the ceramic components. The carrier is not a separate accessory that attaches and detaches. It is part of the EGG's structure.
When placed on a flat surface, the MiniMax sits stably on the carrier base. This makes it functional on camp tables, picnic tables, and other flat surfaces without needing a separate stand. For standing-height cooking over an extended session, the optional Portable Nest is available separately and raises the EGG to a comfortable working height.

If you plan to use the MiniMax primarily on tables and surfaces that are already at a workable height, the Carrier Bundle covers most needs at a lower entry price. If you need standing-height cooking without relying on a table, or want side shelving included from the start, the Portable Bundle is the better starting point. Both the Portable Nest and Acacia EGG Mates are available as separate purchases if you start with the Carrier Bundle and decide you want them later.

The warranty coverage for the MiniMax Carrier Bundle is identical to all Big Green Egg ceramic kamados. The warranty requires registration and is only valid for EGGs purchased from an Authorised Dealer. Purchasing from an unauthorised retailer voids the warranty. All warranty claims for EGGs purchased through BBQ Republic are handled directly through us. Keep your proof of purchase and register promptly after buying.

Our Experience With the MiniMax
We have been cooking on Big Green Eggs since 2017. The MiniMax is the model we point people toward when portability is the main consideration, whether that is a balcony setup, camping, a beach house, or a second EGG that travels rather than stays put.
The ceramic construction makes a genuine difference in portable cooking situations. The thick walls hold temperature steadily even when ambient conditions change, which is something thinner metal cookers struggle with outdoors. You set your vents and the EGG holds its temperature without needing constant attention.

Care and maintenanceKeeping It in Good Condition
- Remove ash from the firebox after each cook using the included ash tool
- Brush the cooking grid clean after use
- Keep the EGG covered when not in use
- Never use lighter fluid or flammable accelerants inside the EGG. This can void the warranty and damages the ceramic.

What is included in a Big Green Egg bundle?
Every BGE bundle includes the Egg itself plus a stand or nest system. Depending on the bundle, this may be an Acacia hardwood table, a modular nest, an intEGGrated nest and handler, or a built-in configuration. Most bundles also include a convEGGtor, charcoal, and SpeediLight starters. Each bundle page lists exactly what is included.
Do Big Green Egg bundles come with a warranty?
Yes. The ceramic components carry a lifetime warranty for residential use when purchased through an authorised dealer. Metal components carry a 5-year structural warranty, the convEGGtor 3 years, and the temperature gauge and gasket 1 year. The warranty requires registration and is only valid through authorised dealers like BBQ Republic.
Do you deliver and install Big Green Egg bundles in Sydney?
Yes. BBQ Republic offers free delivery and installation across Sydney on all Big Green Egg bundles. We deliver, assemble, and leave you ready to cook. No flat-pack assembly, no extra cost. Sales and delivery are available within New South Wales.
Which Big Green Egg size should I buy?
The Large is the most popular choice and the size we recommend most after seven years cooking on BGE. It feeds 4 to 6 people and handles everything from weeknight steaks to 16-hour briskets. The XL suits larger groups. The Medium suits couples or smaller spaces. The MiniMax is the most portable. If you are unsure, visit our Wetherill Park showroom and we will walk you through the options in person.
Can I see Big Green Egg bundles in person before buying?
Yes. BBQ Republic has a showroom in Wetherill Park, Sydney where multiple BGE bundle configurations are on display. You can compare sizes and setups side by side before committing. Open Monday to Friday 10am to 5pm and Saturday 9am to 2pm.
What can I cook on a Big Green Egg?
Everything. The Big Green Egg operates from 75 degrees to over 370 degrees, making it suitable for direct grilling at high heat, low and slow smoking, indirect roasting, baking, and pizza. With the convEGGtor included in most bundles, you can use every cooking method from day one.
Do I need to register my Big Green Egg for the warranty?
Yes. Registration is required for the warranty to be valid. The warranty covers the original registered purchaser and requires purchase from an authorised dealer. All warranty claims for EGGs purchased through BBQ Republic are handled directly through us.
