The Coleman Revolution 2-Burner BBQ is built around Flare-Free Technology, which uses double-stacked cooking grates to capture and redirect 75% more grease away from the flames. This design eliminates the flare-ups that char food and create uneven cooking. Grease drains forward through a dedicated channel to a removable front-access cup, keeping the burner box cleaner and reducing smoke.
The BBQ provides 2,065 cm² of main cooking surface, which is large enough to cook for 3-4 people simultaneously. The warming rack adds another 648 cm² for keeping food hot or slow-cooking at lower temperatures. The main cooking surface is split evenly between a double-sided hotplate (smooth on one side, ridged on the other) and a porcelain-coated cast iron grill grate. This 50/50 configuration lets you cook eggs or pancakes on the hotplate while grilling meat on the grate.
Two 304 stainless steel burners deliver a combined 31.1 MJ of heat output. Each burner has independent control, allowing you to create different heat zones across the cooking surface.
The folding side shelves provide prep space when the BBQ is in use and fold down to reduce the BBQ's width from 115 cm to 90 cm when not in use or during storage. This makes the Coleman Revolution 2-Burner suitable for smaller outdoor spaces, balconies, or patios where a full-size 4-burner BBQ would be impractical.
As an authorised Coleman stockist, we have the Coleman Revolution 2-Burner BBQ on display at our Wetherill Park showroom. Come in and we will show you how Flare-Free Technology works and discuss sizing options for your outdoor space.
Flare-Free Technology eliminates flare-ups The Coleman Revolution range is built around Flare-Free Technology, which uses double-stacked cooking grates to manage grease and fat during cooking. The two-layer grate system captures dripping grease before it reaches the burners, then channels it forward through a dedicated grease channel to a removable front-access cup.
This design removes 75% more grease than standard single-layer grate systems, which eliminates the flare-ups that char food and create hot spots. Food cooks more evenly because the flame is not being interrupted by burning grease. The burner box stays cleaner because grease is not pooling on the flame tamers or burner tubes. Smoke is reduced because there is less grease combusting over open flames.
The double-stacked grates also provide better heat retention than single-layer systems. Heat is trapped between the two layers, which helps maintain consistent cooking temperatures when you open the hood.
2,065 cm² main cooking surface plus 648 cm² warming rack The main cooking surface measures 2,065 cm² (D 46.5 x W 44.4 cm), which is large enough to cook for 3-4 people simultaneously. You can fit multiple steaks, a rack of sausages, or a combination of proteins and vegetables across the cooking area.
The warming rack adds 648 cm² (D 14.7 x W 44.1 cm) of secondary cooking space. Use it to keep cooked food warm while you finish the rest of the meal, or for slow-cooking items that benefit from indirect heat at lower temperatures.
Half double-sided hotplate, half grill grate The main cooking surface is split evenly into two zones. Half of the surface is a double-sided hotplate made from cast iron. One side is smooth and flat for cooking eggs, pancakes, or delicate items. The other side is ridged for grilling with sear marks. You can flip the hotplate depending on what you are cooking.
The other half of the cooking surface is a porcelain-coated cast iron grill grate. Porcelain coating improves heat retention, prevents rust, and makes the grate easier to clean than bare cast iron.
This 50/50 configuration gives you more cooking options than an all-grate or all-hotplate surface. Cook bacon and eggs on the hotplate while grilling sausages on the grate. Sear steaks on the ridged hotplate and grill vegetables on the grate. The hotplate is removable, so you can replace it with additional grill grate if you prefer an all-grate setup.
31.1 MJ total heat output across 2 burners Two 304 stainless steel burners sit below the main cooking surface. Combined heat output is 31.1 MJ. Stainless steel burners resist corrosion better than mild steel or cast iron burners, which extends their lifespan in outdoor conditions.
Each burner has independent control, allowing you to create different heat zones across the cooking surface. Run both burners at high heat for fast searing, or run one burner for direct grilling and leave the other burner off for indirect cooking.
Weather-resistant Instastart ignition The Instastart ignition system lights the burners reliably in outdoor conditions, including wind, humidity, and cold temperatures. Press the ignition button and the burner lights without requiring matches, lighters, or repeated attempts. The ignition is weatherproofed to function in harsh environments.
Folding side shelves for compact storage Both side shelves fold down to reduce the BBQ's width from 115 cm (shelves open) to 90 cm (shelves down). When the shelves are open, they provide prep space for plates, utensils, and ingredients during cooking. When the shelves are folded down, the BBQ occupies less space for storage or to fit in tighter outdoor areas.
This makes the Coleman Revolution 2-Burner suitable for balconies, small patios, or outdoor spaces where a full-size 4-burner BBQ would be too large.
Double-layer hood for heat retention The hood is constructed with two layers of material separated by an air gap. This double-skin design insulates the cooking chamber, which improves heat retention when the hood is closed. Better heat retention means the BBQ maintains consistent temperatures during roasting or indirect cooking, and recovers temperature faster after you open the hood.
The double-layer construction also keeps the exterior hood surface cooler to the touch than single-layer hoods, reducing the risk of burns if you accidentally contact the hood during cooking.
Cabinet storage for gas bottle and utensils The cabinet below the BBQ provides enclosed storage for your LPG gas bottle, utensils, and BBQ accessories. The cabinet has doors that keep contents protected from weather and dust. The gas bottle sits inside the cabinet and connects to the BBQ via a standard regulator and hose.
Black matte finish The Black Matte finish is a high-quality matte sandy finish with a touch of shiny black and a slightly dimpled surface texture. The finish creates a modern blackout appearance that resists fingerprints and is easier to maintain than gloss finishes. The matte surface is durable and weather-resistant.
5-year limited warranty The Coleman Revolution 2-Burner BBQ is backed by a 5-year limited warranty. Registration is required at the time of purchase to activate the warranty.
The Coleman Revolution 2-Burner is designed for smaller households, couples, or outdoor spaces where a full-size 4-burner BBQ is impractical.
Space-efficient design: The folding side shelves allow the BBQ to reduce from 115 cm to 90 cm wide, which makes it suitable for balconies, small patios, or tighter outdoor areas. Most 4-burner BBQs are 140-170 cm wide and do not have folding shelves, which makes them difficult to fit in compact spaces.
Appropriate cooking capacity: The 2,065 cm² cooking surface comfortably cooks for 3-4 people, which is sufficient for most couples or small families. If you regularly cook for 6-8+ people, a 4-burner model is more appropriate. If you typically cook for 2-4 people, the 2-burner provides adequate capacity without the excess size and fuel consumption of a larger BBQ.
Lower fuel consumption: Two burners consume less gas than four burners, which reduces running costs over time. If you do not need the extra cooking capacity of a 4-burner BBQ, the 2-burner is more economical.
Full Flare-Free Technology: Despite being the smallest model in the Coleman Revolution range, the 2-burner includes the same Flare-Free Technology double-stacked grate system as the larger 4-burner models. You get the same grease management, flare-up elimination, and easier cleanup in a more compact package.
Traditional BBQs have a single cooking grate positioned directly above the burners. When fat and grease drip from food, they fall onto the flame tamers or burners and combust, creating flare-ups. Flare-ups char food, create uneven cooking, and leave carbon deposits on the grates and hood.
Coleman's Flare-Free Technology uses double-stacked cooking grates. The primary grate sits at the standard cooking height. Below it is a secondary catch grate positioned close to the burners. When fat and grease drip from food, they fall through the primary grate and land on the secondary catch grate rather than directly on the burners.
The secondary grate is angled to channel grease forward through a dedicated grease channel. The grease flows to a removable front-access grease cup positioned outside the firebox. This design captures 75% more grease than standard single-grate systems.
Benefits:
The double-stacked design also improves heat retention. Heat is trapped between the two grate layers, which helps maintain consistent cooking temperatures.
The Coleman Revolution 2-Burner includes both a hotplate and a grill grate across the main cooking surface, giving you flexibility for different cooking methods.
Hotplate (half of cooking surface): The hotplate is made from cast iron and is double-sided. One side is smooth and flat for cooking eggs, pancakes, bacon, or delicate items that would fall through a grill grate. The other side is ridged for grilling with sear marks. You can flip the hotplate depending on what you are cooking.
Cast iron distributes heat evenly and retains heat well, which makes it ideal for searing. The hotplate sits directly over one burner, so you can control its temperature independently from the grill grate.
Grill Grate (half of cooking surface): The grill grate is made from cast iron coated with porcelain. Porcelain coating prevents rust, improves heat retention, and makes the grate easier to clean than bare cast iron. The grate has wide bars that create sear marks on meat and allow fat to drain through to the Flare-Free system below.
Why this 50/50 split configuration matters: The hotplate and grill grate give you more cooking options than an all-grate or all-hotplate surface. Cook a full breakfast with eggs and bacon on the hotplate while grilling sausages on the grate. Sear steaks on the ridged hotplate and grill vegetables on the grate. Use the smooth hotplate for stir-fries or fajitas while grilling meat on the grate.
If you prefer an all-grate setup, the hotplate is removable and can be replaced with an additional grill grate section (sold separately).
The Coleman Revolution 2-Burner BBQ requires assembly.
Assembly involves attaching the hood, installing the cabinet doors, connecting the burners, and mounting the side shelves. The process is straightforward for anyone comfortable with basic tools and following instructions, but the 47 kg assembled weight means you will need assistance to move and position the BBQ after assembly.
After assembly, you will need to connect an LPG gas bottle (not included) to the BBQ using a standard regulator and hose. The gas bottle sits inside the cabinet storage compartment.
The main cooking surface is 2,065 cm² (D 46.5 x W 44.4 cm). The warming rack adds 648 cm² (D 14.7 x W 44.1 cm). Total cooking area is 2,713 cm².
The 2,065 cm² main cooking surface comfortably cooks for 3-4 people simultaneously.
