The Coleman Revolution 2-Burner BBQ is the entry point to the Coleman Revolution range. It delivers the same Flare-Free Technology and build quality as the larger 3-burner and 4-burner models in a more compact footprint suited to smaller outdoor spaces, balconies, and households that cook for two to four people regularly.

Flare-Free Technology is Coleman's patented double-stacked grate system that captures and removes 75% of grease during cooking. The system eliminates the flare-ups, hot spots, and burnt food that occur when grease drips directly onto burners. The result is cleaner cooking, less smoke, and easier cleanup. The grease collects in a removable front cup rather than carbonising on the burners.

The 2-burner configuration provides 2065 cm² of main cooking surface across two independently controlled 304 stainless steel burners delivering 31.1 MJ total. The cooking surface is split: half double-sided hotplate (smooth and ridged), half porcelain-coated cast iron grate. This gives you the flexibility to grill steaks on the grate while cooking eggs or onions on the hotplate, all in a single session.

Half double-sided hotplate, half grill grate The cooking surface configuration gives you two distinct cooking methods in one BBQ. 2 x 304 stainless steel burners, 31.1 MJ total output The two burners are made from 304 stainless steel, which resists corrosion and holds up well in Australian coastal and high-humidity conditions. Each burner is independently controlled, allowing you to run different zones at different temperatures. Porcelain-coated cast iron grates The grill grate is made from cast iron coated with porcelain. Cast iron retains heat well and distributes it evenly. The porcelain coating protects the iron from rust and makes the grate easier to clean than bare cast iron.

Understanding Flare-Free Technology

Flare-Free Technology is what differentiates the Coleman Revolution range from standard gas BBQs. The system uses double-stacked cooking grates to manage grease and eliminate flare-ups.

On a traditional gas BBQ, grease drips directly from food onto the burners below. When grease hits the hot burner, it ignites and creates a flare-up. Flare-ups char the outside of food before the inside is cooked, create uneven heat across the cooking surface, and leave carbon deposits on the hood and burners.

The Coleman Flare-Free system places two grates on top of each other with a gap between them. Food sits on the top grate. Grease drips through the top grate onto the bottom grate, which is angled to channel grease toward the front of the BBQ rather than allowing it to fall onto the burners. The grease collects in a removable cup at the front.

This design captures and removes 75% of grease during cooking, which eliminates most flare-ups. The remaining 25% of grease that reaches the burners is spread thin enough that it does not cause significant flare-ups or smoke.

The practical advantages are cleaner cooking, less smoke, fewer flare-ups, and easier cleanup. The grease cup empties quickly, and the burners stay cleaner longer because grease is not carbonising on them every cook.
