The Medium Built-In Bundle is the right choice when you are planning a permanent outdoor kitchen and want the Big Green Egg to sit flush within a benchtop, island, or custom surround. It includes the Medium EGG, the Table Nest that is required for any built-in installation, and all the essential cooking accessories to get started immediately.
The Medium EGG sits between the MiniMax and Large in the Big Green Egg range. With a 38 cm cooking grid and 1,140 cm² of cooking surface, it is for 2 to 5 people and can cook 8 burgers, 1 whole chicken, or 3 Boston butts (approximately 3.6 kg each) at a time. For households where the Large would be oversized and the MiniMax too small, the Medium provides a well-proportioned middle ground in a compact footprint suited to tighter outdoor kitchen designs.

Table Nest
Mandatory for any built-in installation. Sits between the EGG and the countertop opening, providing essential airflow underneath and distributing the ceramic weight correctly. Never install without it.
convEGGtor
Ceramic heat deflector that enables indirect cooking. Without it the EGG operates as a direct grill only. With it, smoking, roasting, and baking are all possible.
Grid Gripper and Ash Tool
Grid Gripper for safely removing the hot cooking grid. Ash Tool for clearing ash that accumulates at the bottom of the EGG between cooks.
Natural Lump Charcoal
One bag of Big Green Egg Natural Lump Charcoal, available in Oak and Hickory or Canadian Maple depending on stock.
SpeediLight Natural Charcoal Starters
All-natural fire starters for lighting the EGG without accelerants or lighter fluid. Limited lifetime warranty on ceramic components requires registration.

Built-In Installation: What You Need to Know
The built-in configuration is a permanent installation and requires planning before any construction begins. The Table Nest included in this bundle is a mandatory component. Big Green Egg's safety guidelines are clear: the EGG must never be placed directly into a countertop or outdoor kitchen opening without the Table Nest providing airflow underneath and supporting the weight correctly.
Important: Never install the Medium EGG directly into a countertop opening without the Table Nest. Doing so creates heat damage risk to the surrounding structure and voids the warranty. The Table Nest is included in this bundle.
Airflow
Air must circulate under the Table Nest at all times. Either through ventilation openings in the base of the surrounding structure or through an open storage area below. Blocking airflow causes heat damage to the surrounding structure.
Opening Dimensions
Must be sized to fit the Table Nest correctly with adequate support on all sides. Refer to the measurement manual for exact specifications before any construction begins.
Dome Clearance
Above the EGG must allow the dome to open fully without obstruction. Confirm total height clearance from the countertop surface upward before finalising the design.
Surrounding Materials
Must be non-combustible. Stone, concrete, and tile are appropriate. If timber is part of the design, proper heat shielding and clearances are required.

Why the Medium for a Built-In Outdoor Kitchen
The Medium is the most practical EGG size for built-in outdoor kitchens where bench space is limited or the overall kitchen footprint is compact. It provides meaningful cooking capacity for regular family use without the larger countertop cutout required by the Large or XL.
For townhouses, villa units, apartments with outdoor terraces, and smaller suburban backyards where a full-size outdoor kitchen needs to work within a restricted area, the Medium sized built-in is often the most balanced choice. It leaves room in the design for prep surfaces, storage, and other elements without the kitchen being dominated by the EGG's footprint.

Warranty Coverage
The warranty coverage for the Medium Built-In Bundle follows the standard Big Green Egg warranty structure. The warranty requires registration and is valid only for EGGs purchased from an Authorised Dealer. All warranty claims for EGGs purchased through BBQ Republic are handled directly through us. Keep your proof of purchase and register your EGG promptly after purchase.

Our Experience With Big Green Egg
We have been cooking on Big Green Eggs since 2017 and as a Platinum Dealer we work with customers across all EGG sizes and configurations, including built-in installations. The Medium built-in is a configuration we see regularly in Sydney outdoor kitchens where the available space suits the EGG's footprint but a freestanding nest or table is not what the owner wants long term.

Care and maintenanceKeeping It in Good Condition
- Remove ash from the firebox after each cook using the included ash tool
- Brush the cooking grid clean after use
- Never use lighter fluid or flammable accelerants inside the EGG. This voids the warranty and can damage the ceramic.
- Keep the dome closed when not in use to protect the gasket

What is included in a Big Green Egg bundle?
Every BGE bundle includes the Egg itself plus a stand or nest system. Depending on the bundle, this may be an Acacia hardwood table, a modular nest, an intEGGrated nest and handler, or a built-in configuration. Most bundles also include a convEGGtor, charcoal, and SpeediLight starters. Each bundle page lists exactly what is included.
Do Big Green Egg bundles come with a warranty?
Yes. The ceramic components carry a lifetime warranty for residential use when purchased through an authorised dealer. Metal components carry a 5-year structural warranty, the convEGGtor 3 years, and the temperature gauge and gasket 1 year. The warranty requires registration and is only valid through authorised dealers like BBQ Republic.
Do you deliver and install Big Green Egg bundles in Sydney?
Yes. BBQ Republic offers free delivery and installation across Sydney on all Big Green Egg bundles. We deliver, assemble, and leave you ready to cook. No flat-pack assembly, no extra cost. Sales and delivery are available within New South Wales.
Which Big Green Egg size should I buy?
The Large is the most popular choice and the size we recommend most after seven years cooking on BGE. It feeds 4 to 6 people and handles everything from weeknight steaks to 16-hour briskets. The XL suits larger groups. The Medium suits couples or smaller spaces. The MiniMax is the most portable. If you are unsure, visit our Wetherill Park showroom and we will walk you through the options in person.
Can I see Big Green Egg bundles in person before buying?
Yes. BBQ Republic has a showroom in Wetherill Park, Sydney where multiple BGE bundle configurations are on display. You can compare sizes and setups side by side before committing. Open Monday to Friday 10am to 5pm and Saturday 9am to 2pm.
What can I cook on a Big Green Egg?
Everything. The Big Green Egg operates from 75 degrees to over 370 degrees, making it suitable for direct grilling at high heat, low and slow smoking, indirect roasting, baking, and pizza. With the convEGGtor included in most bundles, you can use every cooking method from day one.
Do I need to register my Big Green Egg for the warranty?
Yes. Registration is required for the warranty to be valid. The warranty covers the original registered purchaser and requires purchase from an authorised dealer. All warranty claims for EGGs purchased through BBQ Republic are handled directly through us.
