The Coleman Revolution Dual Fuel gives you two complete cooking systems in a single BBQ. The gas side provides 3,036 cm² of cooking surface with Flare-Free Technology for weeknight meals and fast cooking. The charcoal side provides 2,568 cm² of kettle grilling for smoke flavour and traditional charcoal cooking. Both sides are full-size, functional cooking surfaces, not compromised half-solutions.
The gas side uses double-stacked cooking grates to capture 75% more grease and eliminate flare-ups. Three 304 stainless steel burners deliver 35.7 MJ total output. The cooking surface includes a one-third double-sided hotplate (smooth and ridged) and two-thirds porcelain-coated cast iron grill grate.
The charcoal side is a 57 cm diameter kettle with a hinged lid for easy access, adjustable vent and exhaust dampers for temperature control, and a gas-assist burner that lights charcoal without lighter fluid or fire starters. The gas-assist burner produces 10.5 MJ and reduces charcoal lighting time from 20-30 minutes to approximately 10-15 minutes.
Combined heat output across both sides is 46.2 MJ. Use the gas side when you want convenience and speed. Use the charcoal side when you want smoke flavour and traditional grilling. Use both sides simultaneously when cooking for large groups.
The Coleman Revolution Dual Fuel is compatible with the Coleman Outdoor Modular System, which allows you to attach storage modules, fridge modules, and sink modules to either side. If you want to build a complete outdoor kitchen around a dual fuel cooking system, this compatibility gives you that option.
As an authorised Coleman stockist, we have the Coleman Revolution Dual Fuel BBQ on display at our Wetherill Park showroom. Come in and we will show you how both sides work, demonstrate the gas-assist charcoal lighting, and discuss charcoal types and setup options.
Two complete cooking systems in one BBQ The Coleman Revolution Dual Fuel combines a full-size gas grill and a full-size charcoal kettle in a single unit. Both sides are complete, functional cooking surfaces, not compromised half-sizes.
Gas side: 3,036 cm² cooking area with three burners and Flare-Free Technology. Use for weeknight meals, fast cooking, or when you want precise temperature control.
Charcoal side: 2,568 cm² kettle with gas-assist lighting, hinged lid, and vent system. Use for smoke flavour, traditional charcoal grilling, or low-and-slow cooking.
You can use either side independently or run both sides simultaneously when cooking for large groups. Total heat output across both sides is 46.2 MJ.
Gas side: Flare-Free Technology eliminates flare-ups The gas side uses double-stacked cooking grates to manage grease and fat during cooking. The two-layer grate system captures dripping grease before it reaches the burners, then channels it forward through a dedicated grease channel to a removable front-access cup.
This design removes 75% more grease than standard single-layer grate systems, which eliminates the flare-ups that char food and create hot spots. Food cooks more evenly because the flame is not being interrupted by burning grease. The burner box stays cleaner because grease is not pooling on the flame tamers or burner tubes.
Gas side: 3,036 cm² cooking surface with hotplate and grill grate The gas side provides 3,036 cm² (D 46.5 x W 66.6 cm) of main cooking surface. This is equivalent to a standard 3-burner gas BBQ and is large enough to cook for 4-6 people.
The cooking surface is split into two zones. One-third is a double-sided cast iron hotplate (smooth on one side, ridged on the other). The remaining two-thirds is a porcelain-coated cast iron grill grate. This configuration gives you both flat-top cooking for eggs and pancakes and traditional grill grates for steaks and sausages.
Gas side: 35.7 MJ across 3 stainless steel burners Three 304 stainless steel burners sit below the gas cooking surface. Each burner produces 11.9 MJ, for a combined 35.7 MJ. Stainless steel burners resist corrosion better than mild steel burners, which extends their lifespan in outdoor conditions.
Each burner has independent control, allowing you to create different heat zones across the cooking surface. Run all three burners for fast searing, or run one or two burners for direct grilling and leave the others off for indirect cooking.
Charcoal side: 2,568 cm² kettle with gas-assist lighting The charcoal side is a 57 cm diameter kettle providing 2,568 cm² of cooking surface. This is equivalent to a standard 22-inch charcoal kettle and is large enough to cook for 4-6 people.
The gas-assist burner sits below the charcoal grate and produces 10.5 MJ. When you want to light charcoal, place charcoal in the kettle, turn on the gas-assist burner, and the burner heats the charcoal from below until it ignites. Lighting time is approximately 10-15 minutes, compared to 20-30 minutes with a charcoal chimney or 30-45 minutes with lighter fluid.
The gas-assist burner eliminates the need for lighter fluid, fire starters, or charcoal chimneys. Once the charcoal is lit, turn off the gas-assist burner and cook over charcoal as you would on any kettle grill.
Charcoal side: hinged lid for hands-free access The charcoal kettle has a hinged lid that opens and stays open without requiring a separate lid holder or stand. This provides hands-free access to the cooking surface for adding food, flipping meat, or adjusting charcoal.
Traditional kettle lids lift completely off and require a separate surface to rest on, which is inconvenient during cooking. The hinged lid on the Coleman Revolution Dual Fuel stays attached to the BBQ and swings open for access.
Charcoal side: vent and exhaust system for temperature control The charcoal kettle includes adjustable vent dampers at the bottom and an adjustable exhaust damper at the top. These dampers control airflow through the kettle, which controls temperature.
Open the vents for more airflow and higher temperatures (direct grilling, searing). Close the vents for less airflow and lower temperatures (smoking, roasting). This system gives you precise temperature control for different cooking methods on charcoal.
Folding side shelves on both sides Both the gas side and charcoal side have folding side shelves that provide prep space during cooking. The shelves fold down to reduce the BBQ's width from 186 cm (shelves open) to 163 cm (shelves down) for storage or to fit in tighter spaces.
Cabinet storage for gas bottle and utensils The cabinet below the BBQ provides enclosed storage for your LPG gas bottle (used for both the gas burners and the gas-assist charcoal lighter), utensils, charcoal, and BBQ accessories. The cabinet has doors that keep contents protected from weather and dust.
Compatible with Coleman Outdoor Modular System The Coleman Revolution Dual Fuel is designed to connect to the Coleman Outdoor Modular System. Storage modules, fridge modules, and sink modules can attach to either side of the BBQ, replacing the folding side shelves. Multiple modules can be connected in sequence to create a continuous outdoor kitchen layout.
If you want to add storage, refrigeration, or running water to your dual fuel BBQ setup, the modular compatibility gives you that option without replacing the entire BBQ.
Black matte finish The Black Matte finish is a high-quality matte sandy finish with a touch of shiny black and a slightly dimpled surface texture. The finish creates a modern blackout appearance that resists fingerprints and is easier to maintain than gloss finishes. The matte surface is durable and weather-resistant.
5-year limited warranty The Coleman Revolution Dual Fuel BBQ is backed by a 5-year limited warranty. Registration is required at the time of purchase to activate the warranty.

Shared Features
The Dual Fuel design lets you choose the appropriate cooking method for each meal rather than being locked into gas-only or charcoal-only cooking.
Traditional charcoal lighting methods have drawbacks:
Lighter fluid: Imparts chemical taste to food, creates large flames, environmentally harmful, requires purchasing and storing flammable liquid.
Charcoal chimney: Requires 20-30 minutes to light charcoal, requires fire starters or newspaper, takes up storage space, can tip over and create safety hazards.
Electric charcoal starter: Requires outdoor power outlet, takes 15-20 minutes, occupies storage space.
The Coleman Revolution Dual Fuel solves this with a gas-assist burner. The burner sits below the charcoal grate and produces 10.5 MJ of heat. When you want to light charcoal:
The gas-assist burner eliminates lighter fluid, fire starters, and chimneys. You use the same LPG gas bottle that powers the gas side, so there is no additional fuel to purchase or store. Once the charcoal is lit, the gas-assist burner turns off and you cook entirely over charcoal.
The charcoal side works with any type of charcoal: lump charcoal, briquettes, or specialty charcoal. The gas-assist burner lights all types equally well.
Most users prefer lump charcoal for high-heat grilling and briquettes for low-and-slow smoking. The choice depends on your cooking method and personal preference.
The Coleman Revolution Dual Fuel BBQ requires assembly.
Assembly involves attaching both hoods, installing the cabinet doors, connecting the gas burners and gas-assist burner, mounting the charcoal kettle, and installing the side shelves. The process is straightforward for anyone comfortable with basic tools and following instructions, but the 91.7 kg assembled weight means you will need assistance to move and position the BBQ after assembly.
After assembly, you will need to connect an LPG gas bottle (not included) to the BBQ using a standard regulator and hose. The gas bottle sits inside the cabinet storage compartment and supplies both the gas side burners and the charcoal side gas-assist burner.
Yes. You can run the gas side and charcoal side simultaneously. This is useful when cooking for large groups or when you want different cooking methods at once (for example, gas for vegetables and charcoal for meat).
No. A single LPG gas bottle supplies both the gas side burners and the charcoal side gas-assist burner. The gas-assist burner only runs for 10-15 minutes to light the charcoal, so gas consumption is minimal.
Yes. The gas-assist burner is optional. You can light charcoal using traditional methods (lighter fluid, charcoal chimney, or fire starters) if you prefer. The gas-assist burner simply makes lighting charcoal faster and more convenient.
The charcoal side works with any type of charcoal: lump charcoal, briquettes, or specialty charcoal. We recommend Argie Grillz Premium Argentinian Lumpwood Charcoal for high-quality lump charcoal, or standard briquettes for longer, even burns.
Approximately 10-15 minutes, compared to 20-30 minutes with a charcoal chimney or 30-45 minutes with lighter fluid.
No. The gas bottle and charcoal are not included. You will need to purchase a standard LPG gas bottle and charcoal separately.
Yes. Coleman offers a natural gas conversion kit (sold separately, part number 085-2261) that allows you to convert the gas side from LPG to natural gas. The conversion must be performed by a licensed gas fitter. Note that the charcoal side gas-assist burner cannot be converted to natural gas.
The Coleman Revolution Dual Fuel is compatible with the Coleman Outdoor Modular System. You can attach storage modules (with or without drawer), fridge modules, sink modules, and corner modules to either side of the BBQ. Modules replace the folding side shelves.
No. A cover is not included. We recommend the Coleman Premium BBQ Cover (Extra Large) for this dual fuel model.
Black Matte is a high-quality matte sandy finish with a touch of shiny black and a slightly dimpled surface texture. It creates a modern blackout appearance and resists fingerprints. Black Gloss is a shiny, polished finish with a subtle grey dimpled texture. Both finishes are durable and weather-resistant. The choice is purely aesthetic.
Yes. The Coleman Revolution Dual Fuel BBQ (Black Matte) is on display at our Wetherill Park showroom. We are open Monday to Friday 10am to 5pm and Saturday 9am to 2pm.
