The Big Green Egg Nest Utility Rack is a 304 stainless steel two-slot rack that clamps directly onto the Nest or intEGGrated Nest+Handler, providing dedicated storage for the convEGGtor, cooking grids, and pizza stone when they are not inside the EGG. Clamp-on installation requires no tools and no permanent modification to the Nest. Manufactured from 304 stainless steel for permanent all-weather outdoor use. Compatible with all EGG Nests and intEGGrated Nest+Handlers. Assembly is required before first use.
The Problem This Solves
Every EGG cook that involves a setup change requires you to remove the convEGGtor from a hot EGG and set it down somewhere safe. The convEGGtor is a large, heavy ceramic disc that reaches temperatures well above 300°C during use. Without the Nest Utility Rack, the only place to put it is on the ground, on a separate table, or balanced on an improvised surface. None of those are good options at cooking temperature. The Nest Utility Rack puts two secure vertical slots directly alongside the EGG at working height, so the convEGGtor comes out of the EGG and drops straight into the rack in a single motion. The same two slots handle the cooking grid and the pizza stone. The entire transition between indirect and direct setups becomes a 30-second operation instead of a two-person job with a separate table.

Clamp-On Installation, No Tools Required
The rack attaches to the Nest frame using a clamp mechanism that requires no drilling, no screws, and no modification to the Nest. It installs and removes in under a minute and can be repositioned around the Nest frame to suit your outdoor setup and the direction you work from at the EGG.

304 Stainless Steel Construction
304 stainless steel is the standard for outdoor and marine applications. It does not rust, corrode, or degrade from outdoor exposure, rain, coastal air, or the temperature cycles of a working EGG setup. The rack is built to stay on the Nest permanently without any maintenance or seasonal storage requirements.

Two Slot Positions for Multiple Accessories
The two-slot design means you can hold both the convEGGtor and the cooking grid simultaneously. This covers the most common mid-cook transition: removing the convEGGtor to switch from indirect to direct, and resting the upper cooking grid to the side while you manage the sear. Both accessories stay upright, stable, and off the ground throughout.

Keeps Hot Accessories at Working Height
The rack sits at Nest height, which means accessories transfer from the EGG to the rack and back without bending down to the ground. Lifting a 300°C ceramic convEGGtor from floor level is a burn risk. At Nest height, the motion is controlled, the transfer is short, and heat-proof gloves do the job properly without awkward angles.

convEGGtor. The primary use case. The convEGGtor is needed for indirect cooking and needs to be removed for direct grilling. The rack holds it securely upright and at Nest height for fast transitions mid-cook or safe cooling after the cook ends.

Cooking Grids. The standard stainless cooking grid and the cast iron grid both fit the rack slots. Useful when switching between cooking levels or when setting the EGG up for a two-zone cook and needing to stage the grids separately.

Pizza and Baking Stone. The pizza stone is a large, fragile ceramic piece that benefits from controlled, upright storage. The rack holds it vertically at the Nest rather than flat on the ground, which reduces the risk of impact damage between uses.
Requires a Nest or intEGGrated Nest+Handler. The Nest Utility Rack clamps onto the Nest frame and is not compatible with table-mounted EGG setups. Tables have their own internal storage provisions for the convEGGtor and accessories. If your EGG is in a table, the Nest Utility Rack is not the right accessory for your configuration.

Does it work with my EGG in a table?
No. The Nest Utility Rack clamps onto the Nest frame and is only compatible with EGGs mounted in a standalone Nest or intEGGrated Nest+Handler. Table-mounted EGG setups have built-in storage provisions for the convEGGtor and accessories. If your EGG is in a table, the Nest Utility Rack will not fit your configuration.
Can the rack hold the convEGGtor while it is still hot?
Yes. The rack is designed for exactly this use. Always use heat-proof gloves when transferring a hot convEGGtor from the EGG into the rack. The 304 stainless steel frame handles the heat without degrading. The convEGGtor can sit in the rack slots while it cools after the cook, or while you transition between setup configurations mid-cook.

The rack attaches to the tubular frame of the Nest using a clamp system. No drilling, no permanent fixings, and no modification to the Nest is required. Assembly of the rack itself is required before first use, and BGE provides an assembly manual. Once assembled, the rack clamps to the Nest frame and can be repositioned or removed without tools.
