Traeger invented the wood pellet grill category. Joe Traeger built the first pellet grill prototype in Mt. Angel, Oregon in 1985 and patented the design in 1986. Most models we stock run on the WiFIRE app, giving you real control and monitoring from your phone, not just a temperature dial. The entry-level Pro 22 instead uses a simpler Digital Pro Controller. The Pro 575 uses Traeger's D2 Direct Drive controller with a brushless drivetrain for faster startup and more consistent temperature holding. The Woodridge Pro adds Super Smoke Mode, an EZ-Clean ash keg, and a pellet sensor, the Ironwood XL adds Dual-Wall insulation, Smart Combustion, a touchscreen controller, and two built-in meat probes, and the new Timberline XL flagship adds a built-in induction side cooktop for searing alongside the smoker. In short, Traeger pairs the original pellet grill design with genuine smart connectivity most competitors still don't offer.

We currently stock five models, from entry-level to flagship. The Pro 22 is the most affordable way in, running a Digital Pro Controller with 6-in-1 cooking (no WiFIRE app). The Pro 575 has 575 square inches of cooking space with the WiFIRE-enabled D2 controller and brushless drivetrain. The Woodridge Pro steps up to 970 square inches and adds Super Smoke Mode for deeper smoke flavour, an EZ-Clean ash keg, a P.A.L. accessory rail, and a pellet level sensor. The Ironwood XL runs 924 square inches, with Dual-Wall insulation for better temperature stability in any weather, Smart Combustion technology, a full touchscreen controller, and two built-in meat probes included. The new Timberline XL is the flagship at 1,320 square inches across three tiers, adding a built-in induction side cooktop so you can sear alongside the smoker. Traeger recommends genuine Traeger 100% hardwood pellets with no fillers or binders, and we stock the full range in 9kg bags: single-species Cherry, Hickory, Apple, and Pecan, plus the Signature Blend and Oak & Whiskey Blend. Signature Blend is the easiest everyday choice if you are cooking a mix of proteins in one session. Single-species pellets give you more precise control if you want to match one wood to one cook, hickory for brisket, cherry for colour on chicken and ribs. Avoid cheap supermarket pellets with softwood fillers, they produce less smoke flavour, more ash, and can foul the auger faster.

Every Traeger grill purchased through BBQ Republic includes the manufacturer's 3-year warranty. BBQ Republic is an official Traeger dealer, so your warranty is fully valid and supported through the correct factory channel from day one. Purchasing from an unauthorised seller or grey-market importer can void your warranty entirely, so always check you are buying from an authorised Australian dealer.

Yes. BBQ Republic offers free delivery and installation of every Traeger model across the Sydney metro area. We position the unit on site, complete the initial setup, pair the WiFIRE app to your phone (or walk you through the Digital Pro Controller on the Pro 22), and walk you through your first cook before we leave. No flat-pack assembly, no courier drop-off at the kerb. These are large, freestanding units, so professional installation is included as standard, not an optional extra.
