Gas BBQ Benefits

Why Cook With Gas

A gas BBQ gives you convenience, speed and control that charcoal cannot match. Push a button, cook in ten minutes, dial in the exact heat you need.

Ready in Minutes

Push button ignition and you are cooking in under ten minutes. No fire to build, no charcoal to light, no waiting around for coals to ash over.

Precise Temperature Control

Burner dials let you set and hold an exact temperature, zone by zone. Sear hot on one side, indirect cook on the other, with no guesswork.

Built-In Ready

A gas BBQ slots straight into an outdoor kitchen. Natural gas or LPG, freestanding or built-in, with side burners and rotisserie kits for full setups.

Cooks Everything

From steaks and burgers to roasts and pizzas, a quality gas BBQ handles every style of cooking. Direct grilling, indirect roasting, even smoking with a wood chip box.

Natural Gas or LPG: Which Should You Buy?

Both run a gas BBQ. The right choice comes down to your home setup. Here is how to pick the right one the first time.

Connected to the Mains

Natural Gas BBQ

Plumbed line direct from your gas mains.

  • No bottle changes, no running out mid-cook
  • Lower running cost over the long term
  • Permanent installation, locked to one location
  • Requires a licensed gas plumber to connect
Best For Built-in outdoor kitchens, permanent setups, homes with existing natural gas plumbed to the alfresco area.
Portable & Flexible

LPG Gas BBQ

9kg bottle, swap and go.

  • No plumber, no installation, ready out of the box
  • Move the BBQ anywhere on the property
  • Bottles widely available, swap or refill anywhere
  • Slightly higher per-cook cost than mains gas
Best For Freestanding BBQs, rental properties, families who entertain in different spots, or homes without natural gas at the alfresco.
Not sure if you have natural gas at your alfresco? We will help you work it out before you buy, and arrange installation across the Sydney metro area at no extra charge on Broil King and Coleman gas BBQs.

Common Questions About Gas BBQs

The questions we get asked most often on the showroom floor and over the phone. Cannot find what you need? Call or message us.

How many burners do I need on a gas BBQ?
For two to four people, a 2 burner gas BBQ like the Coleman Revolution 2 Burner is enough. For most families, a 4 burner gas BBQ with a side burner is the sweet spot. If you regularly entertain, run multiple temperature zones, or want a built-in setup, step up to a 5 or 6 burner gas BBQ like the Broil King Regal Q 590 or Imperial QS 690.
What is the difference between a 4 burner and 6 burner gas BBQ?
A 4 burner gas BBQ gives you enough cooking space for a family and lets you run two temperature zones. A 6 burner gas BBQ doubles that flexibility: you can sear hot on one side, indirect cook in the middle, and keep food warm on the other. Six burners also typically come with premium features like iQue Smart Grill technology, dual-tube burners and a side burner.
Is a natural gas or LPG BBQ better?
Neither is better. They suit different setups. Natural gas connects to your home mains, costs less to run, and is best for built-in outdoor kitchens. LPG runs from a 9kg bottle, needs no installation, and gives you the flexibility to move the BBQ around. Choose based on whether you have natural gas plumbed to your alfresco area.
Which is better: gas or charcoal BBQ?
Gas wins on speed, convenience and temperature control. Charcoal wins on flavour and searing heat. If you cook two or three times a week and want to be ready in ten minutes, a gas BBQ is the right choice. If you cook on weekends and flavour is everything, charcoal. We break the full comparison down in our Gas vs Charcoal guide.
Do you sell built-in gas BBQs?
Yes. Our built-in range is led by the Broil King Imperial QS 690 BI and Imperial QS 590 BI, both engineered for benchtop installation with premium 304 stainless steel construction and iQue Smart Grill technology. The Coleman Revolution range also slots into Coleman's modular outdoor kitchen system.
Are Broil King gas BBQs worth the price?
Broil King sits at the premium end of the gas BBQ market for a reason. Their dual-tube burners deliver more even heat than standard tube burners, the 304 stainless steel construction holds up for years in Australian conditions, and iQue Smart Grill technology gives you precise digital temperature control. If you cook regularly and want a gas BBQ that will still be running in ten years, it is the choice that pays for itself.
Do you deliver and install gas BBQs in Sydney?
Yes. We personally deliver every gas BBQ across the Sydney metro at no charge, with full installation included on Broil King, Masterbuilt, Big Green Egg, Yoder, Green Mountain and Nexgrill. Coleman BBQs are delivered free across Sydney metro and assembly is available on request. NSW-wide delivery is quoted at checkout. Accessories ship Australia wide.
Can I convert a gas BBQ from LPG to natural gas?
Some Broil King models offer conversion kits, but it is not universal. Conversions must be done by a licensed gas plumber, not as a DIY job. If you know you want natural gas, the cleanest approach is to buy the BBQ already set up for it. We will check the fuel type for you before you order.
