Will a Big Green Egg accessory fit my model?
BGE accessories are sized for specific Egg models: MiniMax, Small, Medium, Large, XL and XXL. Pizza stones, plate setters, EGGspander racks and grids are size-specific. Most product pages list the compatible Egg sizes, and the accessory itself is named by the size it fits (for example "Pizza and Baking Stone Large").
If you are unsure of your Egg size, check the diameter of the cooking grid: MiniMax 33cm, Small 33cm, Medium 38cm, Large 46cm, XL 61cm, XXL 73cm. Send us the measurement or your Egg size and we will confirm fitment before you order.
Which wireless thermometer is right for me?
Three good options depending on your cook style:
MEATER Pro XL is the choice for big multi-piece cooks (brisket plus pork shoulders plus chicken) since it pairs four probes with WiFi range. MEATER Pro Duo handles two probes for tandem cooks. FireBoard probes connect via WiFi for serious data-driven cooks who want ambient and meat tracking with cloud logging.
For a single-probe leave-in setup, the original MEATER probe is the entry point. All options work with phone apps for remote monitoring.
How do I cook pizza on a kamado or pellet grill?
On a kamado (Big Green Egg, Kamado Joe) you need a pizza stone or baking stone sitting on the plate setter (legs down) to create an indirect cooking environment. Fire the kamado to 260-320 degrees, let the stone come up to temp for 15 minutes, then launch your pizza with a peel. Cook time is typically 3-5 minutes.
On a GMG pellet grill the Wood-Fired Pizza Attachment bolts onto the Peak or Ledge and dramatically increases dome temperature to 400+ degrees for proper pizza heat. Pair it with the GMG Large Pizza Peel for clean launches and pulls.
What is an EGGspander and do I need one?
The EGGspander is BGE's multi-level cooking system. It is a stainless steel rack that adds a second tier inside the Egg, effectively doubling your cooking surface for big cooks. It also lets you cook two different proteins at two different temperatures simultaneously: ribs on top, chicken below, for example.
If you cook for groups regularly or want to run a brisket and pork shoulder at the same time, the EGGspander is worth its weight. The 2-piece Multi Level Rack for Large is our most popular configuration. Available for Large, XL and XXL Eggs.
Do I need pink butcher paper for brisket, or is foil okay?
Both work, but they do different things. Pink butcher paper (unwaxed, food-grade) lets the brisket breathe through the stall while still holding moisture. You get a firm bark with deep colour. This is the Aaron Franklin method and the one we use for competition-style brisket.
Foil wraps everything in tight, steams the meat, and pushes through the stall faster but softens the bark. Good if you are time-constrained or want a more tender exterior. The Misty Gully Super Heavy Duty Aluminium Foil is a reliable workhorse for foil wraps.
Will a rotisserie kit fit my pellet grill?
Rotisserie kits are model-specific. The Green Mountain Grills Rotisserie Kit fits the Jim Bowie Prime Plus and Peak models. For Yoder Smokers, rotisserie integration goes through accessory racks rather than a traditional spit-style kit. For Broil King gas grills, the Imperial and Regal models have brand-specific rotisserie tumblers.

What is the BBQ Blanket and when do I use it?
The Grill Mate BBQ Blanket is a heat-retention wrap that goes over your cooker (kamado, kettle, drum smoker) to reduce heat loss in cold weather or wind. Real cooks who run their kamado year-round through Sydney winters and chilly mornings swear by it for fuel efficiency and stable temperatures.
It is also useful for very long low-and-slow cooks (overnight briskets, 18-hour shoulders) where every bit of insulation extends your fuel run time. Not strictly required, but a nice quality-of-life upgrade.
