The Patented Heat Management System
The HMS is what separates the YS1500s from every other pellet smoker, including Yoder's own YS640s and YS480s. A perforated diffuser plate distributes heat and smoke evenly across the entire 1,500 sq in cooking chamber. Above the firepot sits an adjustable damper door that the pitmaster controls manually to fine-tune side-to-side heat distribution.
Fully closed, the chamber runs as a uniform smoking environment for low-and-slow cooks. Partially open, you create a hotter zone over the firepot for searing or rendering while the opposite side stays at a gentler temperature for finishing or holding. The ACS Controller and FireBoard
The Adaptive Control System is the brain behind the HMS. Built on FireBoard technology with full Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, the ACS holds chamber temperature within ±5°F of setpoint and adjusts auger feed rate and airflow in real time as it responds to lid openings, ambient weather, and pellet variations.
Two integrated food probes ship as standard and connect through the FireBoard mobile app for remote monitoring. On a 16-hour overnight competition cook, you can run the YS1500s from inside the house, check brisket internal temperature from your phone, and trigger the keep-warm function once the cook is complete. The controller works fully offline. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are additions, not requirements.
Temperature range runs from 150°F at the low end through to beyond 600°F at standard settings, with direct flame grilling temperatures higher again when the damper is opened over the firepot.

What to Run in Your YS1500s
The YS1500s runs on 100% hardwood pellets with no binders, no fillers, and no softwood. We stock and personally use BBQr's Delight Contest Mix and recommend it to every Yoder customer we deliver to. For a smoker of this scale, pellet quality is not a minor consideration. Cheap pellets foul the firepot faster, produce more ash, and force more frequent cleaning cycles, which on a smoker this size matters considerably.
The 20 lb hopper provides approximately 8 hours of runtime at 225°F. For 12 to 16 hour overnight competition cooks, plan to top up the hopper before bed and check it once during the cook. What to Expect Before, During, and After Delivery
Pre-delivery: Every YS1500s order in Sydney metro starts with a site visit or detailed phone consultation to confirm access. The unit is 64.4" long, 67.3" tall, and 303 kg fully built. We need to confirm gate widths, side access, paving condition, and the final cooking position before the truck is loaded. This is included free of charge as part of the delivery service.

Will it fit through a standard residential gate?
Possibly, but it depends on your specific gate. The YS1500s is 64.4" / 163.6 cm long and 37.1" / 94.3 cm deep including the front shelf, with the cart attached. Most standard single residential gates are 900 to 1,000 mm wide, which is tight but workable. Double gates are no problem. Does the ACS controller work without Wi-Fi?

Many of our YS1500s customers run the smoker primarily off the onboard controller and only use the app on long overnight cooks.
