    The Perforated Diffuser Plate

    A precision-perforated steel plate that distributes heat and smoke evenly across the entire 1,500 sq in cooking chamber. The hole pattern is engineered to deliver consistent temperature edge to edge, so a brisket on the far side of the cooker gets the same conditions as one directly above the firepot.

    The Adjustable Damper Door

    Sliding plate above the firepot that the pitmaster controls manually. Closed for uniform low-and-slow conditions across the chamber. Partially open to create a hot zone over the firepot side.     Positioned to one side of the chamber rather than centred, just like a traditional offset stickburner. This is what creates the natural temperature gradient when the damper is engaged, and what allows the YS1500s to behave like an offset smoker while burning clean hardwood pellets through an automated auger.

Is the YS1500s really the only one on display in Australia?

Yes. As of 2026, BBQ Republic in Wetherill Park is the only Australian retailer with a YS1500s on the showroom floor for in-person inspection. Other Yoder dealers can order one in for you, but if you want to see, touch, and operate the cooker before committing, this is the only place in the country to do it. Worth the drive from Melbourne, Brisbane, or anywhere else if you are seriously considering this purchase.

Can I buy a YS1500s online or do I have to come into the showroom?

You can place an order over the phone on 0434 010 411, but we strongly recommend coming into the Wetherill Park showroom first to experience the size and scale of this BBQ in person. The YS1500s is 64.4 inches long and weighs 303 kg, and photos genuinely do not capture the presence of the cooker. A short visit before committing almost always pays off, and we are not going to rush you.

How does delivery to Sydney customers work?

BBQ Republic offers free white-glove delivery and installation across the Sydney metro area. Every order starts with a pre-delivery site visit or detailed phone consultation to confirm access, measure pinch points, and plan the cooking position. On delivery day, Martin personally arrives with appropriate handling equipment, walks the smoker into position, levels it, pairs the ACS controller with Wi-Fi, and runs a full first-cook walkthrough including HMS damper operation. At 303 kg, professional installation is essential, and it is included.

Can you ship the YS1500s to Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, or regional Australia?

Yes. We arrange interstate freight for YS1500s orders nationally, including capital cities and regional locations. Freight is quoted per delivery based on destination, access, and lift requirements. If you are cooking for a family of four to eight with occasional entertaining, the YS640s is the right cooker and the YS480s is the right cooker for smaller spaces. We do not upsell people into the YS1500s. The smoker only makes sense when the cooking volume justifies it, and we will tell you honestly if your situation does not.

Can I run the YS1500s commercially in a restaurant or food truck?

Will it fit through a standard residential gate?

Possibly, but it depends on your specific gate. The YS1500s is 64.4 inches (163.6 cm) long and 37.1 inches (94.3 cm) deep including the front shelf. Most standard single residential gates are 900 to 1,000 mm wide, which is tight but workable. Double gates are no problem. We always conduct a pre-delivery site review on the YS1500s to confirm access, measure pinch points, and plan the route in. If access is restricted, we have options including partial disassembly for transport. This is included free of charge as part of the delivery service.

How does warranty work for Australian customers?

Every Yoder Smoker purchased through BBQ Republic is backed by Yoder's lifetime warranty on the cooking chamber body (welds, seams, and structural steel), plus three-year manufacturer warranty on electronic components and moving parts. BBQ Republic is an official Yoder Smokers dealer, so your warranty is fully supported through the correct factory channel from day one.
