Why Silicone Over Natural Bristles

Traditional natural-bristle basting brushes shed. The bristles come loose during use, stick to the sauce, and end up on the plate. Silicone bristles do not come loose, so there is nothing to find in the finished dish. The silicone is also heat-resistant, so the brush can be used on food that is actively on a hot grill without the bristles melting, warping, or degrading the way plastic-bristle brushes do near heat.
