The Big Green Egg rEGGulator Rain Cap is a heavy-duty cast iron cover that sits over the top vent opening of the rEGGulator to block rain and wet weather from entering the EGG during outdoor cooks. The proprietary pre-seasoned finish provides weather resistance from the first use. When conditions are clear, it stores away cleanly. Available in two size variants to suit all EGG models from MiniMax through to the 2XL.

Feature 01
Keeps Rain Out of the Top Vent
Rain entering the top vent of the EGG disrupts airflow control and can extinguish the fire mid-cook. The Rain Cap sits over the rEGGulator opening and deflects water away from the vent, letting you maintain the fire and temperature even in wet conditions without lifting the dome.

Heavy-Duty Cast Iron Construction
The Rain Cap is made from the same heavy-duty cast iron used across the BGE accessory range. Cast iron does not flex, warp, or blow off in wind the way lighter aluminium or plastic alternatives do. Once seated in the rEGGulator sleeve, it stays put through a proper storm.

Pre-Seasoned Weather Resistant Finish
BGE applies a proprietary super pre-seasoned finish to the cast iron before shipping. The finish provides immediate weather resistance without any curing or seasoning required from the user. Maintain it as you would any cast iron: wipe dry after wet-weather use, apply a light coat of oil occasionally.

Secure Fit in the rEGGulator Sleeve
The Rain Cap is designed specifically to rest inside the rEGGulator vent cap sleeve. It does not require tools, clips, or separate fasteners — it seats by weight and fit in the rEGGulator's existing opening. Remove and store it when cooking in clear conditions.

Cook Through Any Sydney Weather
Outdoor cooking in Sydney's west means dealing with summer storms and winter rain. The Rain Cap removes the weather as a variable from your cook planning. A long brisket or pork shoulder does not need to be cut short because the forecast changes.

The Rain Cap is not a permanent fixture. On clear days, remove it and set it aside — it takes up minimal storage space. Some EGG owners leave it on permanently for convenience; others use it only when rain is forecast. Either approach works.

Yes. The Rain Cap is designed specifically to seat inside the rEGGulator's sleeve opening and is not compatible with the original daisy wheel top vent. Which size Rain Cap do I need for my EGG?
There are two variants. SKU 121042 (MX-Medium, $50) fits the MiniMax and Small EGGs. SKU 120748 (Large-2XL, $57) fits the Medium, Large, XL and 2XL EGGs. Check your EGG size before ordering — the two variants are not interchangeable.
Can I leave the Rain Cap on the EGG permanently?
Yes. The Rain Cap is designed for all-weather use and can remain on the EGG permanently if preferred. It will not interfere with normal cooking — airflow is still controlled through the rEGGulator as usual. Some owners remove it during cooks for slightly more precise top vent adjustment; others leave it on at all times for convenience.
How do I care for a cast iron Rain Cap?
Care is minimal. After wet-weather use, wipe the Rain Cap dry and apply a thin coat of cooking oil to maintain the seasoned surface and prevent surface rust. The proprietary pre-seasoned finish handles the initial weather resistance, but periodic oil maintenance keeps the cast iron in good condition over years of outdoor exposure.
