    450g BagSmoking Pellets (1lb)
    Real JD CharcoalFrom Lynchburg, TN
Beef · Pork · BurgersWhiskey Smoke
    Licensed ProductAuthentic Heritage

Real Jack Daniel's whiskey-saturated charcoal, compressed into smoking pellets. BBQr's Delight Jack Daniel's pellets are made from genuine spent sugar maple charcoal from the Jack Daniel's Distillery in Lynchburg, Tennessee: smoke wood with an authentic whiskey character that no other product can match.

These pellets are made from a one-of-a-kind ingredient: used mellowing charcoal from the Jack Daniel's Distillery. After being soaked in Tennessee whiskey for weeks as part of the Lincoln County filtering process, the charcoal is collected, mixed with oak, and processed into smoking pellets. The result delivers a smoke profile with sugar maple sweetness, whiskey-barrel aromas (vanilla, caramel, oak), and the gentle backbone of clean charcoal. Perfect for grilled steaks, smashburgers and any cook where you want unmistakable Jack Daniel's character.

    The BBQ enthusiast's gift

The Father's Day / Christmas / birthday gift for the whiskey-loving BBQ cook in your life. The licensing premium plus the Lynchburg story makes this the standout giftable product in our smoke wood range.

    The Lincoln County Process, Smoked

Real Lynchburg charcoal. Soaked in real Jack Daniel's.

The reason Jack Daniel's is Tennessee whiskey rather than bourbon comes down to one extra step: the Lincoln County Process. After distillation, the new spirit is filtered through ten feet of sugar maple charcoal before going into barrels. This filtering takes weeks. The charcoal sits in vats, soaked in whiskey, slowly mellowing every drop of Jack Daniel's that passes through the distillery in Lynchburg, Tennessee.

After weeks of filtering, the charcoal is spent: completely saturated with Jack Daniel's whiskey, no longer effective for filtering. Until BBQr's Delight came along, this spent charcoal was waste. BBQr's Delight collects the spent charcoal directly from the Jack Daniel's Distillery, mixes it with oak wood, and processes it into compressed smoking pellets. These pellets are not "whiskey-flavoured" with artificial additives: they are made from genuine Tennessee whiskey distillery byproduct.

When you light a smoke tube or smoker box of these pellets, the smoke that comes off carries: sugar maple sweetness (from the original charcoal base), whiskey-barrel aromas (vanilla, caramel, light oak from the years of whiskey saturation), and oak's clean structural backbone. The character is unmistakable. There is no other smoke wood product in the world that delivers this profile because there is no other licensed Jack Daniel's smoke product.

What "smoking pellets" are (and aren't)

BBQr's Delight 450g pellets are a different product to pellet grill fuel. Both are wood pellets, but they have different jobs:

    ✓ These pellets are for:

Adding whiskey-smoke flavour to any cooker. Use them in pellet smoke tubes (A-Maze-N, LIZZQ etc.), gas grill smoker boxes, electric smoker chip trays, foil packets over charcoal, kamados, or sprinkled directly onto lit lump charcoal. Made from genuine spent Jack Daniel's distillery charcoal.

✗ These pellets are NOT for:

Filling the hopper of a pellet grill as your primary fuel. For that, you need 9kg pellet grill fuel like Lumber Jack 9kg pellets. There is no Jack Daniel's pellet grill fuel: this licensed product only exists in the 450g smoke pellet format. Drop a smoke tube of JD pellets inside your pellet grill alongside the standard hopper fuel for layered flavour.

    Made from Real JD Charcoal

Genuine spent sugar maple charcoal from the Jack Daniel's Distillery in Lynchburg, Tennessee. Mixed with oak and compressed. Not whiskey-flavoured, actually whiskey-soaked.

    Smoke Tube Ready

Standard BBQr's Delight pellet sizing (max 1.25 inch length): designed for A-Maze-N, LIZZQ and other smoke tubes. 3-4 hours of consistent whiskey smoke output per fill.

    Balanced Whiskey Profile

Charcoal + sugar maple + oak blend delivers a balanced smoke profile: pronounced enough to taste, never aggressive. Unlike Mesquite, JD pellets are forgiving and don't over-smoke easily.

    Works in Every Cooker

Gas grills, charcoal kettles, kamados (BGE), offset smokers, electric smokers (Masterbuilt), and pellet grills (as supplemental smoke). Add Jack Daniel's smoke to any cook.

    Frequently asked questions

What's actually inside Jack Daniel's Smoking Pellets?
Spent sugar maple charcoal from the Jack Daniel's Distillery in Lynchburg, Tennessee, mixed with oak wood and compressed into smoking pellets. The Jack Daniel's whiskey-making process filters new spirit through ten feet of sugar maple charcoal (the "Lincoln County Process"), which leaves the charcoal saturated with whiskey over weeks of filtering. BBQr's Delight collects this spent charcoal from the distillery, mixes it with oak, and presses it into smoking pellets. These pellets contain real distillery byproduct: not artificial whiskey flavouring.
What do Jack Daniel's smoking pellets actually taste like?
The smoke profile combines three distinct character notes: sugar maple sweetness (from the charcoal base wood), whiskey-barrel aromas (vanilla, caramel, light oak from weeks of whiskey saturation), and clean oak structure (from the added oak in the pellet mix). The combination is balanced rather than aggressive: pronounced enough to taste clearly, gentle enough to never overpower delicate proteins. The character is unmistakable on grilled steaks, smashburgers and beef ribs.
Is there alcohol in the smoke or in my food?
No. Although the charcoal is saturated with whiskey, all alcohol burns off completely during pellet combustion: the smoke that reaches your food contains only smoke aroma compounds (similar to how cooking with wine evaporates the alcohol). The food is alcohol-free and safe for anyone, including children, pregnant women, and people who don't drink for religious or health reasons. The flavour character of whiskey remains in the smoke, but actual alcohol does not.
What should I cook with Jack Daniel's pellets?
Beef and pork are the standout pairings: grilled steaks, smashburgers, hamburgers, beef ribs, glazed pork chops, and smoked pork shoulder all work beautifully. The whiskey-vanilla character also pairs well with beer can chicken, smoked salt for finishing steaks, and cold-smoked cheeses (cheddar, brie, blue cheese). For long brisket cooks, JD pellets are better as a finishing smoke (last 60-90 minutes) blended with milder pellets like apple or hickory.
    Are these gift-suitable?
Absolutely yes. Jack Daniel's Smoking Pellets are the most gift-suitable product in our entire smoke wood range. The licensing premium, the genuine Lynchburg story, and the Jack Daniel's brand recognition make this a standout Father's Day, Christmas, birthday or "thanks for cooking us BBQ" gift for anyone who BBQs. Pair with a pellet smoke tube and you have a complete gift under $80 that any BBQ enthusiast will use immediately.
Is this a licensed Jack Daniel's product?
Yes. BBQr's Delight has an official licensing arrangement with the Jack Daniel Distillery in Lynchburg, Tennessee, which allows them to use the Jack Daniel's name and trademarks AND collect spent mellowing charcoal directly from the distillery. The product is officially licensed and the charcoal is real distillery byproduct: not artificial whiskey flavouring or unauthorised use of the JD name.
Can I use these in any cooker?
Yes. JD smoking pellets work in any cooker: gas grills with a smoker box, charcoal kettles, kamados like the Big Green Egg, offset smokers, electric smokers like Masterbuilt, and pellet grills as supplemental smoke (via a smoke tube on top of standard hopper fuel). They do not replace pellet grill primary fuel: 9kg pellet grill fuel like Lumber Jack 9kg bags is for that job.
Should I soak Jack Daniel's pellets before use?
No. Like all smoking pellets, JD pellets are designed to burn dry. Soaking them would create steam, prevent proper smoke generation, dissolve the whiskey character that gives them their unique profile, and potentially cause the pellets to fall apart. Always use pellets straight from the bag. This is the most common first-time mistake: pellets are not chips, and they should never be soaked.
Can I pick up from the showroom?
Yes. BBQr's Delight Jack Daniel's Smoking Pellets are on display and available for immediate pickup from our Wetherill Park showroom, Monday to Friday 10am to 5pm and Saturday 9am to 2pm. Sydney metro delivery is also available. Call 0434 010 411 to arrange. Particularly handy for last-minute Father's Day and birthday gifts.
