Big Green Egg Cast Iron Half Moon Plancha Griddle Large+ FAQs
Which size EGG does the Large plancha fit?
It is designed for the Large EGGspander system and sits directly on the fire ring of a Large EGG. It also fits XL and 2XL EGGs, though on those larger sizes you may want support underneath. It can also sit on top of the standard stainless steel cooking grid.
What is the difference between the smooth and ridged sides?
The smooth side is a flat griddle surface, ideal for eggs, pancakes, blinis and delicate fish. The ridged side gives you char lines and lets fat drain away, which suits steaks, sausages, hot sandwiches and anything you want a seared finish on. Just flip the plancha to switch surfaces.
Can I still grill while the plancha is on?
Yes. Because it is a half-moon and only covers half the cooking grate, you keep the other half open for direct grilling. Cook bacon on the plancha and sausages over the coals at the same time. If you want a full flat-top surface, you can run two plancha halves together.
How do I care for the cast iron?
Treat it like any quality cast iron. Keep it seasoned, avoid harsh detergents, dry it thoroughly after cleaning, and apply a light coat of oil before storing. Well looked after, cast iron lasts for decades and only improves with use.

Warranty & Guarantee
1. What warranty applies to Big Green Egg accessories?
Big Green Egg Australia warranty terms depend on the part. The convEGGtor and ceramic pizza and baking stones carry a limited 3-year warranty. Metal, stainless steel and cast iron components carry a limited 5-year structural integrity warranty (rust, discolouration and surface wear are not covered unless the part fails structurally). Wood EGG Mates and hardwood tables, gaskets and the temperature gauge carry a limited 1-year warranty. Consumables such as cleaners, scrubber pads, butcher paper and fire starters are not covered by a warranty term. Each product page shows the term that applies to that item.
2. How do I make a warranty claim?
Warranty claims are typically handled through us if the product was purchased via BBQ Republic. If it was purchased via another Dealer Proof of purchase is required for all warranty assessments.
3. What is not covered under warranty?
Normal wear and tear, cosmetic damage, misuse, and damage caused by improper installation or maintenance are generally not covered under warranty.
