Which Oakford Suits You
Four buyer scenarios we hear most often, and the Oakford model that suits each. The numbers in Block 2 tell you what is different. This block tells you which difference matters for your cook.
First-Time Pellet Smoker Buyer
You have a gas BBQ already, you want to start smoking briskets and pork shoulders on weekends, and you do not want to spend flagship money to find out if pellet smoking is for you. The 715 covers all the cooking you will actually do as a beginner with 4,760 sq cm of grate space. Step up later if you outgrow it.
Regular Weekend Entertainer
You cook for 6 to 10 people most weekends, you want the Pro-tier 14.55 kg hopper and 287°C top end so you can run a brisket overnight without refilling, and you want a high-heat sear option for steaks. The 875 Pro is the genuine value pick: same Pro hopper and temperature ceiling as the flagship, $300 less.
Serious Entertainer or Competition Cook
You regularly cook for 10 to 15 people, you want to run a full brisket plus a couple of pork shoulders simultaneously, and competition-style cooks (multiple proteins on the same fire) matter to you. The 1125 Pro flagship gives you 7,445 sq cm of cooking area, which is 28% more grate space than the 875 Pro.
Tight Outdoor Space
Your alfresco area or BBQ corner is under 130 cm wide. Width is the real constraint here, not cooking area. The 715 fits in 115.5 cm, the 875 Pro needs 131.6 cm, and the 1125 Pro needs 149.9 cm of clear wall space (plus venting clearance behind). Measure your space before you choose your model.
How the Oakford Pellet Smokers Cook
Four technologies that define how a Nexgrill Oakford cooks, and the specs that come with each. Every pellet smoker burns hardwood pellets, but the way the Oakford controls fuel feed, temperature, and connectivity is what makes it worth the price.
WiFi App Control
Every Oakford pellet smoker ships with built-in WiFi and pairs to the Nexgrill app on iOS and Android. Set the temperature, monitor the cook, and receive done-temperature alerts from your phone. You are no longer chained to the smoker for a 12-hour brisket.
Hardwood Pellet Fuel
Burns food-grade hardwood pellets (hickory, apple, mesquite, oak, competition blends). The fuel produces both the heat and the smoke, which means real wood smoke flavour in every cook. The 715 holds 10 kg of pellets; the 875 Pro and 1125 Pro both hold the Pro-tier 14.55 kg hopper.
Set-and-Forget Auger Feed
An electric auger feeds pellets from the hopper into the burn pot at the rate needed to hold your target temperature. The controller adjusts the feed rate and the convection fan speed in real time. Once you set the temperature, the smoker holds it within a few degrees automatically.
Hot Rod Ignition
A heating element ignites the pellets in the burn pot at startup, no lighters or kindling needed. Push the button, set the temperature, and walk away. The Oakford comes up to cooking temperature within 10 to 15 minutes from a cold start.
One Cooker, the Full Cooking Spectrum
The Oakford 715 tops out at 260°C; the 875 Pro and 1125 Pro both hit 287°C. The Pro-tier upper range is what makes high-heat searing genuinely usable, not just possible on paper.
Built for Australian Backyards, Stocked in Sydney
Your Nexgrill pellet smoker is built for Australian conditions and supported by an authorised Sydney dealer. Here is what that means in practice when you buy from BBQ Republic in Wetherill Park.
Built for the Australian Climate
Powder-coated steel construction and weather-sealed electronics handle Sydney summers and southerly busters alike. Add a Nexgrill cover for permanent outdoor storage and the cooker will look the same in five years as it does on day one.
Free Sydney Delivery and Install
We deliver, unbox, assemble, position, and pair your Oakford to your home WiFi as part of the standard install across Sydney metro. You do not lift a thing, and the cooker is ready to use the moment we leave.
Full Manufacturer Warranty
Buying from an authorised Nexgrill dealer means full manufacturer warranty coverage backed locally. We handle the warranty claim if needed. Aftermarket sellers and grey-import retailers cannot offer this protection.
Real Cooking Advice from Real Use
Martin has been cooking on pellet smokers since 2014, including over a decade on Yoder Smokers. The advice you get is from real cooks, not a sales script. Bring your cooking question to the showroom or the phone.
Genuine Hardwood Pellets in Stock
We stock BBQr's Delight hardwood pellets at the showroom in hickory, apple, mesquite, oak, and competition blends. Add a bag (or three) to your Nexgrill order and skip the trip back to the shop.

Questions from Nexgrill Pellet Smoker Buyers
The decision-stage questions we field most often from buyers comparing the three Oakford models.
What is the actual difference between the Oakford 715 and the 875 Pro?
Three real differences. The 875 Pro has a larger 14.55 kg pellet hopper (versus 10 kg on the 715), a higher maximum temperature of 287°C (versus 260°C on the 715), and more cooking area at 5,795 sq cm (versus 4,760 sq cm on the 715). The 875 Pro is also 16 cm wider in footprint.
For most buyers, the hopper and maximum temperature are the upgrades that change how you cook. The 287°C top end is what makes high-heat searing genuinely usable on the Pro models, and the larger hopper means a full brisket cook without refilling pellets mid-cook.
Is the Oakford 1125 Pro worth the extra $300 over the 875 Pro?
Worth it only if you genuinely need the extra cooking area. The 1125 Pro and 875 Pro share the same 14.55 kg hopper and the same 287°C maximum temperature. The only meaningful difference is the cooking surface: 7,445 sq cm on the 1125 Pro versus 5,795 sq cm on the 875 Pro, which is roughly 28% more grate space.
If you regularly cook for 10 to 15 people, run multiple proteins simultaneously, or do competition-style cooks where space matters, the 1125 Pro pays off. If you cook for 6 to 10 most weekends, the 875 Pro is the genuine value pick.
How much space do I need to install the Nexgrill in my backyard?
Width is the constraint to plan around. The 715 needs 115.5 cm, the 875 Pro needs 131.6 cm, and the 1125 Pro needs 149.9 cm of clear wall space. All three Oakford models are roughly 77 cm deep and 124 to 128 cm tall.
Add at least 30 cm of clearance behind the smoker for venting, and clear space either side for lid opening and hopper access. If your alfresco area is tight, send us a photo or measurements and we will confirm the right size before you commit.
How long does delivery and installation take in Sydney?
For Sydney metro orders, the standard install takes around 60 to 90 minutes on site. We unbox, assemble, position in your nominated spot, pair the cooker to your home WiFi, and walk you through the controller before we leave.
Delivery scheduling depends on current order volume but most Sydney metro deliveries can be arranged within 5 to 10 business days of order. Call us on 0434 010 411 to confirm timing for your suburb.
Can I cook a brisket on the Oakford 715, or do I need a Pro model?
Yes, a brisket fits on the Oakford 715. The 70 x 45 cm main cooking surface comfortably handles a standard 5 to 6 kg packer brisket. Smaller home-cook briskets (3 to 4 kg) fit with plenty of room to spare.
The trade-off on the 715 is the 10 kg hopper. A 14-hour brisket cook at 110°C will use roughly 8 to 9 kg of pellets, which means you may need to top up the hopper once mid-cook. The Pro models with the 14.55 kg hopper can run an overnight brisket without intervention.
Can the Oakford do high-heat searing, or is it just for low and slow?
The Oakford 875 Pro and 1125 Pro both reach 287°C, which is enough for genuine high-heat searing of steaks, chops, and high-heat grilling of chicken, vegetables, and pizza. The 715 tops out at 260°C, which is still enough for most high-heat cooking but stops short of full searing performance.
This is one of the genuine advantages of a pellet smoker. You can run low and slow at 110°C in the morning for ribs, then ramp up to 287°C in the evening for a sear, on the same cooker.
What kind of WiFi setup does the Nexgrill app need?
A standard 2.4 GHz home WiFi connection that reaches your outdoor cooking area. The Nexgrill app is available for iOS and Android and pairs to the cooker via WiFi for temperature setting, cook monitoring, and done-temperature alerts.
If your home WiFi signal does not reach the alfresco or backyard reliably, the cooker still works perfectly via the onboard controller. The WiFi is a convenience, not a dependency. We pair the cooker to your home network as part of the standard install.
What warranty comes with a Nexgrill Oakford bought from BBQ Republic?
Full manufacturer warranty backed by Nexgrill Australia, plus our authorised dealer support. We handle the warranty claim on your behalf if anything fails within the warranty period, which means you deal with one phone call rather than navigating a manufacturer process directly.
Warranty cover only applies when the smoker is bought from an authorised Nexgrill dealer. Aftermarket sellers, grey-import retailers, and used unit resellers cannot offer this protection. BBQ Republic is an authorised Nexgrill dealer for Australia.
