A tip to make your new probe last. When you remove the probe from your meat, do not rest it directly on the hot grill grates. The grates run far hotter than the probe is rated for, and this is the single most common cause of probe failure over time. Set it on a side shelf or a heat-safe surface instead, and your probe will last far longer.
