The Coleman Revolution Dual Fuel BBQ is the only unit in the Coleman range that combines a full-size gas grill with Flare-Free Technology and a full-size charcoal kettle in a single integrated appliance. This design solves the practical problem of wanting both cooking methods without needing two separate BBQs, two sets of storage, and twice the outdoor space. The gas side handles weeknight grilling and high-heat searing with minimal setup and cleanup. The charcoal side delivers the smoke flavour and radiant heat that only charcoal can provide, with a gas-assist burner that lights the charcoal faster than traditional methods.
Both cooking surfaces are full-size and fully functional. The gas side provides 3,036 cm² of cooking area across three 304 stainless steel burners with Flare-Free Technology, which captures and removes 75% of grease to eliminate flare-ups and hot spots. The charcoal side provides approximately 2,568 cm² of cooking area with a hinged lid, vent and exhaust controls, and a gas-assist charcoal lighting burner that reduces the time required to bring charcoal up to cooking temperature.
The Coleman Revolution Dual Fuel is designed to integrate with the Coleman Outdoor Modular System, which allows you to expand this BBQ into a complete outdoor kitchen by adding side modules for fridges, sinks, and storage. If you want the flexibility of gas and charcoal in a single unit with the option to build out a larger outdoor cooking station over time, this is the BBQ to start with.
As an authorised Coleman stockist, we have the Coleman Revolution Dual Fuel BBQ on display at our Wetherill Park showroom. Come in and we will show you how both cooking systems work and how the modular system integrates with this unit.
Gas and charcoal in one integrated unit The Coleman Revolution Dual Fuel combines a full-size gas grill and a full-size charcoal kettle in a single appliance. Both sides are independently functional and can be used separately or simultaneously. This design eliminates the need for two separate BBQs while providing access to both cooking methods in a single footprint.
Gas side: 3,036 cm² with Flare-Free Technology The gas side features three 304 stainless steel burners delivering 35.7 MJ across 3,036 cm² of cooking surface. The Flare-Free Technology uses double-stacked cooking grates that capture and redirect grease away from the burners to a front grease channel. This system removes 75% of grease during cooking, which eliminates the flare-ups, hot spots, and burnt food that occur when grease drips directly onto burners.
The gas side includes a 1/3 double-sided hotplate as standard. One side is smooth for delicate cooking like eggs and fish, the other is ridged for grill marks. The remaining 2/3 of the cooking surface uses porcelain-coated cast iron grates.
Charcoal side: 2,568 cm² kettle with gas-assist lighting The charcoal side is a 57 cm diameter kettle that provides approximately 2,568 cm² of cooking area. The kettle includes a hinged lid for hands-free access during cooking, a vent and exhaust system for temperature and smoke control, and a gas-assist charcoal lighting burner that speeds up the ignition process.
The gas-assist burner eliminates the need for fire starters, lighter fluid, or chimney starters. Turn on the burner, place charcoal over it, and wait for the coals to light. This reduces the time required to bring charcoal up to cooking temperature and simplifies the lighting process compared to traditional methods.
For best results, we recommend using premium lump charcoal like Argie Grillz premium lump with the gas-assist burner. The dense Quebracho Blanco hardwood lights evenly and burns longer than standard charcoal.
46.2 MJ total heat output The combined heat output across both cooking systems is 46.2 MJ. The three gas burners produce 11.9 MJ each (35.7 MJ total), and the charcoal gas-assist burner produces 10.5 MJ. Each burner is independently controlled, allowing you to use one side, the other, or both simultaneously depending on what you are cooking.
Double-layer hood for heat retention Both the gas and charcoal sides feature a double-layer hood that improves heat retention and allows you to cook with the lid closed. This is particularly useful for roasting, slow-cooking, and smoking on the charcoal side, where maintaining stable temperatures over extended periods matters. The double-layer construction also reduces heat loss in cold or windy conditions.
Porcelain-coated cast iron grates (gas side) The gas side uses porcelain-coated cast iron grates that retain heat well and distribute it evenly across the cooking surface. The porcelain coating protects the cast iron from rust and makes the grates easier to clean than bare cast iron.
304 stainless steel burners All burners are made from 304 stainless steel, which resists corrosion and holds up well in Australian coastal and high-humidity conditions. Stainless steel burners last longer than painted or coated steel burners, which can rust or corrode over time.
Weatherproof Instastart ignition The gas side features a weatherproof Instastart ignition system that functions reliably even after exposure to rain or moisture. This is relevant for BBQs stored outdoors or in uncovered locations where ignition components would otherwise corrode or fail.
Foldable side shelves and cabinet storage The unit includes foldable side shelves for prep space and a cabinet with storage for the gas bottle and utensils. The shelves fold down to reduce the overall width when the BBQ is not in use or needs to be moved.
Compatible with Coleman Outdoor Modular System The Coleman Revolution Dual Fuel is designed to integrate with the Coleman Outdoor Modular System, which allows you to add side modules including fridges, sinks, storage cabinets, and prep surfaces. The BBQ connects to these modules to create a continuous outdoor kitchen layout.

The gas side of the Coleman Revolution Dual Fuel features Flare-Free Technology, which is Coleman's patented double-stacked grate system designed to eliminate flare-ups and hot spots.
Traditional gas BBQs allow grease to drip directly onto burners, where it ignites and creates flare-ups that char food and create uneven heat. Flare-Free Technology uses two cooking grates stacked on top of each other with a gap between them. The top grate is where you place food. The bottom grate catches dripping grease and channels it toward the front grease collection system rather than allowing it to fall onto the burners.
This design captures and removes 75% of grease during cooking, which eliminates most flare-ups and reduces the smoke and soot that result from burning grease. The system also reduces wear and tear on the burners by preventing grease buildup and corrosion.
The practical advantages are cleaner cooking, less smoke, fewer flare-ups, and easier cleanup. The grease collects in a removable front cup rather than carbonising on the burners and heat shields.
The charcoal side of the Coleman Revolution Dual Fuel includes a gas-assist burner designed to light charcoal faster and more consistently than traditional methods.
Traditional charcoal lighting requires fire starters, lighter fluid, or a chimney starter. The gas-assist burner replaces these methods by providing a controlled flame directly under the charcoal. Turn on the burner, place charcoal over it, and wait for the coals to ignite.
Once the charcoal is lit and glowing, turn off the gas burner and allow the charcoal to come up to full cooking temperature.
This method is faster than chimney starters, cleaner than lighter fluid, and more convenient than managing fire starters. It also ensures the charcoal lights evenly across the kettle rather than concentrating heat in one spot.

The Coleman Revolution Dual Fuel is designed for anyone who wants both gas and charcoal cooking methods without owning two separate BBQs. The gas side handles quick weeknight grilling with minimal setup and cleanup. The charcoal side delivers the smoke flavour and radiant heat required for low and slow cooking, smoking, and traditional asado-style grilling.
The dual-fuel design also suits households where different people prefer different cooking methods. One person can grill steaks on the gas side while another slow-cooks ribs on the charcoal side, all on the same unit.
If you want the flexibility of both cooking methods in a single appliance with the option to expand into a full outdoor kitchen using the Coleman Modular System, this is the BBQ to consider.
The Coleman Revolution Dual Fuel BBQ requires assembly. We are happy to provide you with the official assembly guides. Assembly is straightforward for anyone comfortable with basic tools and following instructions, but the 91.7 kg assembled weight means you will need assistance to move the BBQ into position once assembly is complete.
